কিরাত (قراءات) এর সংজ্ঞা:
কিরাত শব্দের অর্থ “পড়ার পদ্ধতি”।
ইসলামি পরিভাষায়:
কিরাত হলো কুরআন মাজীদের সেই ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সহীহ ও মুতাওয়াতির পদ্ধতি, যেগুলো রাসূল ﷺ থেকে সাহাবাদের মাধ্যমে বর্ণিত হয়েছে এবং নির্ভরযোগ্য ইমামদের মাধ্যমে সংরক্ষিত হয়েছে।
👉 অর্থাৎ, কুরআনের শব্দ একই, কিন্তু উচ্চারণ, টান (মাদ), বা কিছু ধ্বনির পার্থক্য থাকতে পারে—যা সবই সহীহ ও অনুমোদিত।
২. ৭ কিরাতের ইতিহাস
কুরআন নাযিল হয়েছে সহজভাবে পড়ার সুবিধার জন্য বিভিন্ন উপভাষায়।
📖 হাদিসে এসেছে:
“এই কুরআন সাত হরফে নাযিল হয়েছে।”
এরপর তাবেঈ ও তাবেঈ-তাবেঈ যুগে বিভিন্ন কিরাত সংরক্ষণ করা হয়।
বিশেষ করে ৭ জন বিখ্যাত ইমাম এই কিরাতগুলোকে সুসংগঠিত করেন। তাদের কিরাতই “৭ কিরাত” নামে পরিচিত।
৭ কিরাতের প্রসিদ্ধ ইমামগণ:
- ইমাম নাফি‘ (مدني)
- ইমাম ইবনে কাসির (مكي)
- ইমাম আবূ আমর (بصري)
- ইমাম ইবনে আমির (شامي)
- ইমাম আসিম (كوفي)
- ইমাম হামযা (كوفي)
- ইমাম কিসাই (كوفي)
👉 এদের প্রত্যেকের কিরাত সহীহ সনদের মাধ্যমে প্রমাণিত এবং মুসলিম উম্মাহ দ্বারা গ্রহণযোগ্য।
৩. কিতাবের উদ্দেশ্য ও লক্ষ্য
এই কিতাবের মূল উদ্দেশ্য হলো—
১. তাজভীদ সহজ করা
- মুখের অবস্থান (Makharij)
- অক্ষরের সিফাত (Sifaat)
সহজ ভাষায় ব্যাখ্যা করা
২. ৭ কিরাত পরিচিত করা
- প্রতিটি কিরাতের স্বতন্ত্র নিয়ম
- উচ্চারণের পার্থক্য
- উদাহরণসহ ব্যাখ্যা
৩. শিক্ষার্থীদের ব্যবহার উপযোগী করা
- টেবিল, চিত্র ও সহজ ব্যাখ্যা
- ধাপে ধাপে শেখার পদ্ধতি
৪. আমল ও তিলাওয়াত উন্নত করা
- সঠিকভাবে কুরআন পড়া
- তিলাওয়াতে সৌন্দর্য আনা
- আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি অর্জন
সংক্ষিপ্ত উপসংহার
তাজভীদ ও কিরাত শুধু তাত্ত্বিক জ্ঞান নয়—এটি একটি আমল।
সঠিকভাবে কুরআন তিলাওয়াত করা প্রতিটি মুসলমানের দায়িত্ব।
Definition of Qirā’āt (قراءات)
The word Qirā’āt literally means “methods of recitation” or “modes of reading.”
In Islamic terminology:
Qirā’āt refers to the various authentic and mutawātir methods of reciting the Qur’an, which have been transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ through the Companions and preserved by reliable Imams of recitation.
👉 In other words, the words of the Qur’an remain the same; however, there may be slight variations in pronunciation, elongation (madd), or certain phonetic aspects—all of which are authentic and permissible.
History of the Seven Qirā’āt
The Qur’an was revealed in a manner that made it easy for different Arab tribes and dialects to recite it correctly.
📖 It is reported in Hadith:
“Indeed, this Qur’an was revealed in seven aḥruf (modes).”
These variations in recitation later became known as Qirā’āt.
During the era of the Tābi‘īn and the generations after them, these authentic methods of recitation were carefully preserved and organized. Over time, the Muslim Ummah widely accepted the recitations of seven prominent Imams, which came to be known as the Seven Qirā’āt.
The Seven Famous Imams of Qirā’āt:
- Imam Nāfi‘ (Madani)
- Imam Ibn Kathīr (Makki)
- Imam Abū ‘Amr (Basri)
- Imam Ibn ‘Āmir (Shami)
- Imam ‘Āṣim (Kufi)
- Imam Ḥamzah (Kufi)
- Imam Al-Kisā’ī (Kufi)
👉 All of these recitations are authentically transmitted and accepted by the Muslim Ummah.
Objectives of This Book
The primary goal of this book is to present Tajwīd and Qirā’āt in a simple, clear, and student-friendly manner.
1. Simplifying Tajwīd
- Explaining the points of articulation (Makharij al-Ḥurūf)
- Explaining the characteristics of letters (Sifāt al-Ḥurūf)
Using easy language, examples, and visual aids
2. Introducing the Seven Qirā’āt
- Highlighting the unique features of each recitation
- Explaining differences in pronunciation and elongation
- Providing practical examples
3. Making It Learner-Friendly
- Use of tables, charts, and illustrations

- Aiming to attain the pleasure of Allah
